Purpose:  (* This is now a part of the Board of Education of the King of Glory Lutheran School)

 

(1) Fosters spiritual growth of all members by providing and promoting learning opportunities for all age levels.

 

(2) Promote enrollment and attendance in educational agencies.

 

(3) Enlist teachers.  (*)

 

(4) Provide and promote training opportunities for teachers (*), officers and workers in educational agencies.

 

(5) Establish and review objectives of educational programs for all age levels.

 

(6) Supervise curricula or programs of Cradle Roll, Sunday School, elementary school (*), Vacation Bible School, confirmation classes, and Bible classes.

 

(7) Provide adequate facilities and equipment (texts, materials, audio visual aids, etc.) for total educational program.  (*)

 

(8) Establish and maintain congregational library.

 

(9) Promote church magazines and other Christian literature.

 

(10) Recommend to the (*) Executive Council qualified candidates for educational leadership roles (Sunday School officers, youth counselors, etc.).

 

(11) Provide for supervision of youth's social and recreational programs, as well as Christian growth.

 

(12) Plan, promote, and carry out programs to strengthen Christian family life.

 

(13) See to the welfare of each worker (and family) under its supervision.  (*)

 

(14) Prepare a list of candidates when the congregation is to call a teacher.  (*)

 

(15) Maintain a manual of operations for guidelines of future boards and committees.

 

Groups Represented: Band (*), Bible Study, Children's Choir (*), Elementary School (*), Family Counselor (*), Latchkey (*), Library, Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF), Parent-Teachers League (PTL), Pre-School, Scouts (Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts),  Summer Sports Camp, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School (VBS)
