Board of Social Ministry |

Purpose: This Board was organized in 1987. It's aim is to meet the changing needs of St. Johns Lutheran Church. It maintains an emergency assistance program, e.g., food pantry, health needs, etc., for the members of St. Johns, promotes ministry to those with special physical needs, the elderly, the disabled and the like. It also plans, promotes and conducts programs with special mental, spiritual and emotional needs within the congregation and community and cooperates with the social agencies of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) and the community to meet the needs of our fellowman. Special needs that this Board has met are: food pantry and assistance, "World Relief", health kits and layettes, "Bundles of Food for Mothers", Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas giving tree, special greetings - birthday, get well, sympathy.
